Fever - Friend

Fevers should ideally be supported and not suppressed, in fact there's a proven correlation between autism diagnosis and the use of acetaminophen for inflammation and fevers. Anti-febrile medications are often suggested out of fear that if a fever spikes too high and too quick, it will cause a seizure and subsequent brain damage. This is a rare outcome and there are homeopathic remedies to help prevent this.

Ideally we want to let a fever run its course while giving electrolytes, keeping the body comfortable with cool drinks, taking sponge bath, optimizing rest, and ingesting broths and soups. If a fever is causing discomfort and spikes too high, dose a remedy in 30C potency once every 1-3 hours until the fever subsides. Some remedies well know for fevers include:

Aconite: After sudden onset of a fever, especially if after exposure to cold or wind; with fever there's anxiety, restlessness, palpitations and thirst. Pupils might be contracted.

Arsenicum: Prolonged chilly phase with shaking, even during fever; thirst for small sips of water; anxious and restless.

Belladonna: Sudden, intense fever; dry, burning fever without chills; face and body hot while hands and feet are cold; craves lemonade; throbbing headache with fever; glassy eyes; pupils dilated; delirium.

Chamomilla: Fever in young children, especially if teething; long-lasting heat; one cheek red, the other one pale; inconsolable; desires to be held and carried.

Ferrum Phos: Fever with few other symptoms; dry heat without chill; early stages of a fever.

Gelsemium: Fever with weakness, trembling, chills running up and down spine; sleepy and weak, with drooped eyelids; occipital headaches; pupils constricted; heaviness of body.

Nux vomica: Chills and shakes with fever, worse uncovering and drafts; desires a lot of heat and warm drinks.

Rhus tox: Terrible aching with fever; stiffness in the body; feeling restless and anxious.

Diatomaceous Earth - DE - Friend or Foe?

There's a very popular topic around here should you need a subject of conversation - that's worms, yes, of the intestinal kind (not the intellectual kind. I used to be a book worm, I guess I still am in a way).  Worms? Because they infect so many people so fast, it's important to find an alternative to the current medical solution which is basically poison to the body. For months I prayed to find one so we could get rid of these parasites, visiting my children's rectum every night (sorry for the visual).  I tried a soup recipe with all the types of food supposed to get rid of worms. Even homeopathy doesn't kill the parasites. Vermox, the medical option, works sometimes and sometimes not, but who knows what damage it does while it travels the body.  One day, I come across this post on hpathy.com, one of my favorite homeopathy reference website: "Stumbled upon this post, but I want to let anyone know who feels hopeless about parasites, especially worms.
