Mindful Parenting

How to Mindfully Parent You don’t need to change your entire lifestyle to start practicing mindfulness strategies today. Open your eyes, literally and figuratively. Pay attention to your surroundings and how you feel on the inside and out. Take in things with all your senses — touch, hearing, sight, smell, and taste. Be in the moment. Resist living in the past or planning too intently for the future. Find the good in what’s happening right now, right in front of you. Practice acceptance. Try your best to accept your child’s emotions and actions, even when they frustrate you. (And extend this acceptance to yourself.) Breathe. Having a crisis moment? Focus on your breath. Take a deep breath in, filling your lungs with air and keeping your mind on your breath. Exhale and feel your breath as it enters and exits your body. Encourage your child to breathe during tough times, too. Meditate. Focusing on the breath is a big part of meditation. You only need to carve out a few minutes each day

Different Body Parts, Different Stories

The amazing work Hashem made in the form of our bodies is the source of infinite reasons to be grateful every day. Every time I learn more about it (and in my profession, there's what to learn every day), I get a feeling of His great wisdom and unbelievable kindness.  That being said, I'd like to share with you some tips and pieces of knowledge you could appreciate about different parts of our bodies: - Skin - Acne - Face - Teeth - Fever - Hemorrhoids -Brain - Feet - Heart - Constipation and Diarrhea Symbolism of the Skin Our skin is our envelope, it is through it that we express many things in our lives; through it, we experience our affective relationship or cry out our need to be protected (allergies). In Chinese medicine, it is related to lung energy. Also, it comes from the same embryonic tissue as the brain and the nervous system. Like him, she captures and records data. The skin will allow contact, but also protects against external aggressions. She also reveals certain

School's Back: What About My Child?

My child’s misbehaving in school: what can I do? Yes, homeopathy can cover ADD, too! ADD, ADHD, call it whatever you want - your child has difficulty concentrating, he's acting out in class, the teacher is worried and wants you to give him Ritalin? Fear no more!  Individualization is the key in treating any chronic condition with homeopathy, but it is particularly important in treating children with ADHD. Symptoms in these children can vary greatly: some are violent and aggressive, others are sweet, sensitive and compassionate, trying to cooperate fully with the physician although unable to concentrate in school. This diversity explains why no one medication, whether prescription or homeopathic, will work for all these children. Advantages of Homeopathy Homeopathy is a true science based on laws and principles AND the only scientific way of testing its validity: remedies tested on healthy individuals, not animals neither sick patients

Antidote and Plussing Your Remedy

How to : a) Antidote a Substance b) Plus your Remedy a) Antidote a Substance  Believe it or not, sometimes you need to antidote a remedy (in case of homeopathy) or a medicine (allopathy) or even something you ate that created an unhappy ending (like coke). So let's take Coca-Cola as an example. Let's say you drank some coke (which as everybody knows is a big no-no) and you had a bad reaction to it, now I'll show you, with Hashem's help, how to antidote that Coca-Cola. You follow me? You put a bit of the Coca-Cola in a medium disposable cup of water, stand at the sink with the cold water on, dump out the cup, refill it with cold water, dump it out, refill, dump out, refill (no, the content doesn’t have to stay in the cup!), ….do this 10 times and take a sip of the 10th cup. Same thing if you need to antidote a remedy that what not right for you or just too strong, except instead of a bit of Coca-Cola you drop 2-3 pellets in the cup, and continue as explained: dump out th

Coconut Family

Crazy Coco!   To anyone who like to visit the Olam HaTeva, the natural health store in Kesem, there's a treasure of coconut-related products. I once decided to buy them all (almost at once) and see what I could do with them. True, I could have found out  first  a recipe and  then  buy the product but where's the fun in that?  So now we're dealing with a few ingredients I need to find a recipe for: coconut oil, coconut water, coconut milk, coconut flour... Let's start with some fun, friendly treats for the children (and Sugar-Free too!) Coconut Popsicle  This recipe will surely please them and add some much-needed vitamins in their day, without them knowing! Nu, which vitamins? In  coconut water  - not to be confused with coconut milk, we'll get to that later - you have the following health benefits: - 15% of daily requirement (DR) of  potassium  in one cup.  - other electrolytes include calcium and magnesium, helps maintain proper fluid balance.  - a lot of water (o

Worried about Worms?

It's like I had two lives: one before I knew about worms and one after. I mean, it's one thing to know about it and another to live with it - to feel the threat it might come back (and it will!) unless we don't take things in our own hands (well make sure they're clean before!) The Theory Behind It So let's get clear about the causes, manifestations and what it is we're dealing with here, in Modiin Illit, where I work as a homeopath (did I mention it already?) What are we dealing with, here, doc? To make sure we're not afraid of these little creatures that creep out of our children's rectum during the night (what a nightmare!), let's get down to basics and know who or what we're dealing with: Most likely, if you have wormy cases here in Israel, you're dealing with pinworms. There are other kinds of worms but it's better to know what's causing the problem, exactly. So there we have a name - pinworms. Because they're small like a p
